Help With Salary is designed so you can estimate salary outcomes without creating an account or deliberately submitting personally identifying information.

Information you enter

The salary calculator runs from the values you enter, such as salary, tax code, pension percentage, bonus, student loan plan, salary sacrifice, other income and optional career-context fields. These values are used to calculate estimates and to provide page-specific assistant responses when you use the chat helper.

Do not enter information you would not want processed for the purpose of generating calculator results or assistant responses. The site is for general information only and does not provide financial, tax, legal or employment advice.

Chat helper and AI features

If you use the on-page salary helper or pay-rise draft feature, the question, page context and relevant calculator values may be sent to the configured AI provider to generate a response. The response should stay within the site's salary-planning topic area, but you should avoid entering sensitive personal details.

Cookies and advertising

Session storage

The chat helper may use browser session storage to remember recent calculator context and a short chat history while you move between pages in the same browser session. This helps the helper answer follow-up questions about your salary assumptions. Session storage is held in your browser and is normally cleared when the tab or browser session ends.

The hosting platform may keep technical logs such as request time, URL, response status, IP address, user agent and error details. These logs are used to operate, debug and protect the service.
